Does Northwest Christian University have a good athletic program?
Our athletic program, which began in the late 50's with Men's Basketball, has expanded to sponsor 12 sports over the past three years. In 2007, Beacon Athletics joined the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Cascade Collegiate Conference and is an exciting part of the campus life at NCU.
Northwest Christian University has a long history of athletic success. The men's basketball team has won eight national championships at the small college level and both the women's basketball and softball teams have qualified for National Championship tournaments in the past, including a runner-up finish for the softball team at the USCAA national championship tournament in 2002.
Does Northwest Christian offer athletic scholarships?
Yes, each of NCU's 12 sports has a limited number of athletic scholarships available. The athletic scholarship program is administered in conjunction with merit and need-based financial aid to put together a complete package. The coaching staff from each sport uses various criteria to determine which student-athletes are deserving of some level of athletic aid.
What type of financial aid is available?
At Northwest Christian University, the financial aid office works to make your college education affordable. NCU provides both merit and need-based financial aid, to include federal and state aid as well as institutional aid. 98% of our students receive some type of financial aid in the form of scholarships, loans, grants and work-study. Each year, Northwest Christian awards $2.3 million in institutional grants and scholarships. For more information visit the Financial Aid website.
