EUGENE, Ore. – Eight Northwest Christian University women’s basketball players were named to the Academic All-Cascade Collegiate Conference team, as announced by the league offices on Tuesday. NCU had the highest number of academic honors in the conference.
To earn Academic All-Conference honors, players must be of sophomore standing and carry a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.2 or higher.
Earning her third Academic All-CCC honor was senior
Jenneca Crocker (Philomath, Ore.), a teacher education major. Also earning a repeat selection was junior
Katey Monteith (Roseburg, Ore.) an accounting majors named for the second time.
First-time honorees included senior
Kelsey Bolander (Marcola HS), an accounting major, and junior
Lori Renner (Marist HS), a human services major.
Sophomores who were named were business administration majors
Jess Anderson (Oregon City, Ore.) and
Martha Taylor (Brewster, Wash.), along with exercise science majors
Randi Keyser (Willamina, Ore.) and
Amanda Zempel (Redding, Calif.).
Head Coach Liz Turner-Bolton said, “We are blessed to have such a dedicated and motivated group of young women in our program, both on and off the court. They recognizes the value, importance, and significance of academic success in the big picture. It will be rewarding to see our high achieving freshman class added to this group next year.”
The eight women represent the most from any one school, with the closest runner-up coming from The College of Idaho, with seven. Oregon Tech and Warner Pacific each had five women selected.
